Frescoes in the Greco-Roman aesthetic by German painter Georg Alexander Mathey line the entrance, whispering of a turbulent era when ideology and art intertwined.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, rooms like the library tell of a long-standing cultural bond. Director Francesco Neri, fluent in Greek, speaks of revitalizing Italy\u2019s cultural role in Athens.
