He said new regulations would ban minors from using scooters on roads, allowing them only in pedestrian areas and squares. \u201cMy personal position is that these should not exist. It is very dangerous,\u201d he said, adding that broader measures are needed \u201cto restrict or ban them,\u201d warning that without dedicated lanes \u201cwe will lose lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Transport engineering professor Ioannis Politis disagreed, saying bans have poor results. He argued responsibility should shift to parents through digital controls that lock devices and monitor behavior.
