Nikolas Farantouris, currently an independent MEP formerly with SYRIZA, has voiced clear support for PASOK, strongly indicating that a move to Greece\u2019s main opposition party is near.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will not remain independent forever. There will be decisions soon,\u201d he said in an interview with Parapolitika 90.1 FM.<\/p>\n
Farantouris aligned himself with PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis, stating: \u201cI unite my voice for transparency and political change,\u201d echoing the party\u2019s central message.<\/p>\n
He added that \u201cno one should be absent\u201d from this effort, describing PASOK as \u201cthe only organized pole\u201d capable of ensuring political momentum toward elections.<\/p>\n
Farantouris, who is soon expected to join PASOK\u2019s group in the European Parliament, ruled out a return to contest the next Greek election.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a fresh MEP, I have issues to complete. I will continue my term,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
SYRIZA expelled Farantouris from its group in the European Parliament in January following comments in which he said he would \u201cwelcome\u201d the formation of a new political party by Maria Karystianou, at the time, the Tempe railway victims\u2019 head activist, who has since founded a political movement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
