A new luxury accommodation complex is set to launch in the Greek capital\u2019s Ilissia district next week, marking the transformation of the historic site that housed the Athens Hilton Hotel for decades.<\/p>\n
The Conrad Athens \u2013 The Ilisian will begin a soft opening on Thursday, April 23, following the completion of a major redevelopment project. The site\u2019s construction fencing, in place for several years, was removed in recent days.<\/p>\n
The complex retains key architectural elements of the original building, including its iconic facades by Greek artist Yannis Moralis, blending them with a contemporary design.<\/p>\n
The project, developed by TEMES SA, is estimated to have cost around \u20ac340 million, including the acquisition of the property.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The new hotel features about 307 rooms and suites overlooking the city, including a 400-square-meter mega suite. The development also includes 18 private Conrad Residences and 37 Waldorf Astoria Residences on the upper floors, scheduled for delivery later this year.<\/p>\n
In addition to accommodation, the complex also features dining, retail, wellness and entertainment spaces, as well as a private members\u2019 club. The House of NYNN club and the Japanese restaurant Onuki have already begun operating near the renovated swimming pool.<\/p>\n
Designed along the principles of sustainability, the project aims to achieve LEED Gold certification. A study by the University of Piraeus estimates the development will support up to 800 jobs during operation, significantly increasing employment compared to the building\u2019s previous use as a hotel.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
