This will be our motto starting January 1,\u201d Gerapetritis declared.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He addressed the recent fall of Syria\u2019s Assad regime, stating, \u201cWhile we may applaud the end of an authoritarian regime, we must also worry about rights protection, international law, foreign influence, and Syria\u2019s territorial integrity and inclusiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gerapetritis highlighted a global challenge, citing 55 ongoing conflicts worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInternational law cannot be applied a la carte.
