A new nationwide survey conducted by Pulse shows the ruling conservative New Democracy party maintaining a significant lead, while socialist PASOK, now the main opposition party following defections from the leftist SYRIZA party, remains steady in second place.<\/p>\n
ND scored 25% of voter support, up from 24% in a previous Pulse poll conducted November 24\u201326. PASOK held firm at 14%. The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) ranked third, rising slightly to 8% from 7.5% in last month\u2019s poll. SYRIZA followed in fourth place, unchanged at 6.5%.<\/p>\n
The poll, conducted for the Skai media outlet from December 15\u201317 with a sample of 1,121 respondents, also analyzed support among undecided voters. ND was projected to win 30% of votes from this group, up from 28.3% in the previous poll. PASOK saw notable growth among undecided voters, increasing to 17% from 12.8% a month earlier. In contrast, SYRIZA\u2019s share dropped sharply to 8% from 14.9%.<\/p>\n
When asked about PASOK\u2019s return as the main opposition party, 63% of respondents who identified as ND voters expressed \u201cindifference,\u201d while 86% of PASOK supporters reported feeling \u201csatisfaction.\u201d<\/p>\n
On foreign affairs, 41% of respondents expressed being \u201cextremely concerned\u201d about Greek-Turkish relations, while 34% described themselves as \u201cvery concerned.\u201d Regarding Syria and broader developments in the Middle East, 31% of respondents said they were \u201cextremely concerned,\u201d and 38% were \u201cvery concerned.\u201d<\/p>\n
Looking ahead to the new year, 49% of respondents predicted that 2025, globally, would be \u201ca little or a lot worse\u201d than 2024, while only 9% believed the new year would bring improvements.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
