Australia’s Ambassador to Greece, Duncan, hosted the ambassadors of the Quad countries in Athens for a working lunch on September 23, highlighting Australia’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Indo Pacific.
The meeting brought together representatives of Australia, India, Japan and the United States, with discussions focused on cooperation across the Indo Pacific.
The lunch also provided an opportunity to welcome India’s new Ambassador to Greece, HE Ravi Shankar, to the group.
At the same time, the gathering marked the departure of Japan’s Ambassador to Greece, HE Koichi Ito, with the Australian Embassy thanking him for his close cooperation on Indo Pacific issues during his posting.
The Quad, comprising Australia, India, Japan and the United States, is a key partnership in Australia’s foreign policy and focuses on cooperation across areas including regional security, economic resilience, critical technologies, infrastructure and humanitarian assistance.
