A video showing a donkey with its legs tied under the hot sun on the island of Mykonos has sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for stronger protection of animals in Greece.
The incident came to light after a visitor to the popular Cycladic island recorded the animal in distress and shared the footage online. The donkey appears unable to move freely, with its legs tied using a practice known as “pastouroma”, which restricts an animal’s movement.
