Miltiadis Tentoglou equals Greek national long jump record

Greek long jumper Miltiadis Tentoglou equalled the national record of 8.66 metres held by Louis Tsatoumas since 2007, recorded the world’s best performance of 2026, and won gold at the Panhellenic Championships in Volos.

Key details

• He matched Tsatoumas’s “haunted” record from the 2007 Papaflesseia meeting in Kalamata.
• His previous best mark at the national championships was 8.48 m (2021).
• In Volos he produced three jumps over 8.60 m and four over 8.50 m.
• He closed the competition with 8.64 m (+0.7 wind).
• Although he did not surpass 8.66 m, the performance puts the national record firmly in his sights for the near future.
