Christos Tzolis Completes £34m Transfer to Arsenal from Club Brugge – Greek City Times

Greek international Christos Tzolis has completed a £34 million transfer from Club Brugge to Premier League champions Arsenal.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger has signed a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium and becomes Arsenal’s third permanent signing of the summer window. He arrives as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who recently joined Besiktas.

Tzolis scored 43 goals in 108 appearances for Club Brugge and faced Arsenal in last season’s Champions League, when Mikel Arteta’s side defeated the Belgian club 3-0.

Player’s Reaction
“It’s absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England,” Tzolis said.
“I’m very proud to be part of this team for the next season. When my agent was saying maybe it was a possibility, I was already excited. Afterwards it was getting more serious and now I’m here.

“I had a nice conversation with Mikel Arteta. It was around an hour. We talked about everything — about the club, about myself, about his plans, about the team. It was only positive things.

“My targets are to win titles… and to have as much game time as possible with the team. Then the rest will come.”

Arsenal’s View
Sporting director Andrea Berta said:
“We’re delighted to have completed the signing of Christos Tzolis. Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line. He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.

“Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he’s a player who will raise the technical level of our squad while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm and a strong mentality to our team. We’re confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club.”

Career Background
Tzolis previously played 14 Premier League matches for Norwich City during the 2021-22 season. He later spent loan periods with FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Club Brugge in 2024.

His arrival provides a boost for Arsenal as they prepare to defend their Premier League title, with defender William Saliba recently ruled out for an extended period due to a back injury.
