Stefanos Tsitsipas has returned to the winner’s circle, capturing the 2026 Swiss Open Gstaad title with a hard-fought three-set victory over Belgium’s Raphael Collignon.
The Greek star prevailed 6-4, 6-7(2), 6-3 in Sunday’s final to lift his 13th ATP Tour title and his first since winning the Dubai Championships in early 2025, ending a title drought of 16 months.
Tsitsipas produced a composed performance throughout the match, relying on his strong serve and experience to overcome the determined Belgian. The opening set remained tight until the Greek secured the decisive break in the 10th game to take the lead.
The second set proved more challenging. Collignon broke early, but Tsitsipas responded to level the score and created opportunities to finish the match in straight sets. The Belgian, however, dominated the tiebreak to force a deciding set.
With momentum seemingly shifting, Tsitsipas quickly regained control. As fatigue began to affect Collignon, the former world No. 3 raised his level, winning a remarkable 12 consecutive points to take command of the final set before sealing the victory 6-3.
The triumph marks an important milestone in Tsitsipas’ comeback after a difficult period on the ATP Tour. The title is expected to lift him significantly in the ATP Rankings, moving him closer to a return to the world’s top 50.
It is Tsitsipas’ 13th career ATP singles title and a timely confidence boost as he looks to build momentum for the remainder of the 2026 season.
