New arrest made in Larnaca terrorism investigation as suspect remanded for eight days – Greek City Times

Cypriot authorities have made a new arrest in connection with the ongoing terrorism case currently before the Larnaca Criminal Court.

Police confirmed that officers from the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID), working alongside other security services of the Republic, carried out a coordinated operation that resulted in the arrest of a third-country national.

The suspect was transferred to Cyprus by investigators from the Larnaca CID and is alleged to be linked to the same offences under investigation in the terrorism case, for which three other suspects are already in custody.

The suspect appeared before the Larnaca District Court, which granted police an eight-day detention order to allow investigators to continue questioning and gather further evidence.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the suspect’s identity or the specific allegations, citing the ongoing investigation.

The Larnaca CID continues to lead the investigation, while the broader terrorism case remains pending before the Larnaca Criminal Court.
