Greece and the Republic of Cyprus took centre stage during France’s Bastille Day military parade in Paris, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between the three nations.
As one of Europe’s most prestigious military ceremonies unfolded along the Champs-Élysées, Greek and Cypriot military contingents marched together, representing their armed forces before a global audience watching France’s national day celebrations.
Adding to the display, Hellenic Air Force fighter jets flew over the French capital as part of the parade, underscoring the deepening defence cooperation between Athens, Nicosia and Paris. The aerial participation reflected the close military ties that have strengthened in recent years, particularly through joint exercises and defence agreements.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides attended the ceremony alongside French leaders, reinforcing the importance of the trilateral relationship at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions across Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.
