Authorities have arrested 11 suspects following a deadly brawl at Nigrita Prison in northern Greece on Sunday that left two inmates dead.
Police said officers recovered several objects during a raid after the incident, including makeshift knives and wooden planks.
Sources identified two main suspects in the killings – a Georgian and an Albanian national – while the remaining nine are accused of participation.
The victims, an Iranian and an Algerian national, were killed during the violence. Further details about their identities were not immediately available, and the cause of the clash remains unclear.
Prison staff intervened to break up the fight and provided first aid while calling an ambulance from EKAV.
