One man has been arrested on the southern island of Crete over an attack on a nightclub bouncer by three people he had reportedly refused entry.

A police statement said the 20-year-old suspect was arrested Friday over the incident in the city of Iraklio and faced charges including for arms violations and causing bodily harm.

The attack took part in the early hours of Friday, with three men approaching the 57-year-old bouncer, threatening him with handguns and stabbing him with a knife. They then fled, abandoning a gun and a shepherd’s crook.

Police are seeking the other two men involved in the attack.
