Traffic congestion was reported in central Athens and major highways on Thursday evening, as large numbers of residents headed out for the May Day long weekend despite forecasts of worsening weather.
Significant delays were reported on Kifissou Avenue, particularly along the stretch from Renti to Metamorfosi, as well as on Kifissias Avenue between Ambelokipi and Maroussi, in both directions.
Congestion was also recorded on Athens’ Attiki Odos ring road, with traffic slowing notably on the westbound route toward Elefsina.
