A man opened fire inside a branch office of the Single Social Security Entity (EFKA) in the district of Keramikos, central Athens, on Monday morning.
The suspect entered the building on 4 Keiriadon Street armed with a hunting rifle and started shooting, injuring one employee on the leg, according to initial police information. It was not clear how serious his injury was.
The same sources indicated that the suspect is en elderly dumpster diver who fled the scene.
The area has been cordoned off by police forces who arrived at the scene to determine the circumstances under which the shooting occurred.
