More than 1.400 people on motorbikes and e-scooters were fined οver the past week for not wearing crash helmets, police said Monday, in a slight increase over the previous week.
A police statement said 16,383 people were stopped nationwide between April 20-26, and 988 motorcycle riders were caught helmetless. Another 142 passengers were caught and fined, as well as 305 e-scooter riders.
Most of the violations were recorded in the Greater Athens region, followed by western Greece.
