
The total number of people registered as unemployed with the Public Employment Service (DYPA) reached 861,241 in March, recording a decrease of 64,800 people (7%) compared to March 2025 and a decrease of 42,687 people (4.7%) compared to the previous month, February 2026.
According to DYPA’s statistics for registered unemployment, out of the total of 861,241 individuals, 403,847 (46.89%) have been registered as unemployed for a period equal to or longer than 12 months, while 457,394 (53.11%) have been registered for less than 12 months. Of this number, 301,973 (35.1%) were men and 559,268 (64.9%) were women.
The 30-44 age group recorded the highest number of registered unemployed among all age groups, totaling 252,373 individuals (29.3%). Those with up to secondary education qualifications (including post-secondary education) accounted for the highest number of registered unemployed among education levels, totaling 419,375 individuals (48.7%).
