Greek Finance Minister and Eurogroup President, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, is in Washington, D.C. on Monday to participate in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
Pierrakakis will participate in person for the first time in the G7 meetings, in his capacity as President of the Eurogroup. During the Meeting, the Minister will hold a series of contacts with institutional representatives and top executives of the international economy, including IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva.
He will also have private meetings with the British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, and the Japanese Finance Minister, Satsuki Katayama.
Pierrakakis will be a keynote speaker in a discussion and participate in the Semafor World Economy 2026 Annual Convening, on the topic of “The New Era of Global Growth.”
The Meeting is taking place in a particularly complex and volatile international environment with increased uncertainties about the prospects of the global economy.
