Public transport to run less frequently over Easter


Public transport operators in Athens have announced modified Orthodox Easter schedules that will apply from Good Friday through Easter Wednesday.

Buses and trolleybuses

On Good Friday, all services will follow a Saturday schedule.

On Holy Saturday, vehicles will begin to withdraw from service at 10 p.m. to return to depots by 11 p.m.

On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, a Sunday and public holiday schedule will apply.

On Easter Tuesday, services will follow Saturday timetables.

Metro

On Good Friday, services will run at reduced frequency, with no night-time extensions on Lines 2 and 3. Services will operate until 11.30 p.m. on Line 1 and 12.30 a.m. on Lines 2 and 3.

On Holy Saturday, services will run at reduced frequency, with the last trains on all lines between 10 and 11 p.m.

From Easter Sunday to Easter Wednesday, services will run at reduced frequency.

Tram

On Good Friday, services will run every 12 minutes until 10 p.m., and every 15 minutes thereafter. There will be no night-time extension.

From Holy Saturday to Easter Monday, all services will run every 15 minutes.

On Easter Tuesday and Wednesday, services will run every 12 minutes until 10 p.m., and every 15 minutes thereafter.

Suburban rail

As Hellenic Train has made no announcements, the usual weekend and public holiday timetable will apply on Athens Proastiakos services.
