
A group of 28 migrants who crossed illegally by sea from Turkey has been found on the islet of Psara off Chios in the eastern Aegean Sea, authorities said Sunday.
A Coast Guard statement said the 14 men, 6 women and 8 children have been taken to a migrant camp on Chios. It said they were located in two groups Saturday at Kavos Markaki on northern Psara.
There was no information on the migrants’ nationalities.
About 5,800 people have entered Greece illegally since the beginning of the year, according to United Nations data.
