A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in central Athens suspected of staging a string of armed robberies at mini markets and petrol stations threatening staff with a knife, police said Sunday.
A police statement said the boy was taken into custody in the Pangrati district on Tuesday night. It said he was believed to have engaged in recent weeks in at least seven robberies or attempted robberies in Pangrati, Dafni, Kallithea and Plaka.
The suspect appeared to have acted alone. Police provided no further details.
