Three new members of the Greek cabinet were sworn in on Saturday at the Presidential Mansion, replacing ministers who resigned on Friday, after their name appeared in a new case file concerning a widening farm subsidies scandal.

Margaritis Schinas, a former European Commission vice president, replaced Kostas Tsiaras as rural development minister; Evangelos Tournas, a former deputy minister for climate crisis and civil protection, assumed the role of Minister from Ioannis Kefalogiannis; and Makarios Lazaridis, New Democracy’s representative on the parliamentary investigative committee for OPEKEPE, was sworn in as deputy rural development minister, succeeding Christos Kellas.

On Friday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reshuffled his government after judicial authorities forwarded to Parliament two investigations by European prosecutors which include the names of 11 of the ruling party’s lawmakers.
