Traffic along Pireos Street, a key route linking central Athens with Piraeus, was disrupted on Wednesday night after a large tree collapsed over the roadway. No injuries have been reported.
Traffic police closed the affected stretch from the intersection with Petrou Ralli Street toward Piraeus, diverting vehicles as crews worked to clear the road.
The incident comes as Storm Erminio sweeps across the country, bringing heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds, with severe conditions expected to continue into Thursday.
Weather-related traffic disruptions have also been reported in Spata, on the eastern outskirts of Athens, and in coastal Rafina, further east.
