An 82-year-old man was found dead Sunday in his home in Koufalia, southwest of Thessaloniki, days after his 77-year-old wife was acquitted in a domestic violence case.
Police were alerted around 7 p.m. by a neighbor.
Officers found the man unresponsive with visible injuries; the wife was present and later arrested for failing to provide assistance.
Authorities have not ruled out homicide, and a postmortem examination is planned to determine the cause of death.
The man reportedly lay on the floor for hours before help was sought.
