A grenade explosion inside a bar in Grenoble, south-eastern France, on Wednesday night (12/02) left 12 people injured, including two in serious condition.
Authorities are investigating all possible motives, though early indications suggest it may be linked to a settling of scores rather than terrorism.

According to prosecutor François Touré, an unidentified individual entered the bar, threw a grenade without saying a word, and fled the scene. While all possibilities remain open, Touré stated that there is no evidence to suggest a terrorist attack. Instead, authorities are examining a potential connection to drug trafficking.
Reports also indicate that the attacker may have been armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, though it remains unclear whether the firearm was used. The primary damage was caused by the grenade explosion, which occurred around 8:00 PM local time (9:00 PM GMT) in the Olympic Village neighbourhood, an area known for heightened security concerns.
Emergency services responded quickly, treating about a dozen victims on-site. Despite the severity of the attack, the two seriously injured individuals are not in critical danger, according to the latest updates. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the assailant’s identity and motive.
