The police have released details regarding the resolution of the murder of a 58-year-old man from Pieria.
The man had been reported missing by his 34-year-old partner in early September. However, following a series of interrogations, the woman confessed to the murder and revealed to authorities where she had buried him.
Police discovered the victim’s remains buried in the yard of their home. According to the authorities, the woman, who is facing homicide charges, was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued against her by the examining magistrate of Katerini. She has since been brought before the prosecutor.
According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), the woman had reported her partner missing on September 4 2024.
However, after a thorough investigation and coordinated police efforts, human skeletal remains were found on Thursday, buried in the yard of the home they shared in a region of Pieria. The discovery was made at a location the woman herself had pointed out.
A forensic investigation team from the Pieria police department is currently examining the site.
