Four animals have died in rapid succession at the Municipality of Athens’ Shelter of Socrates, sparking outrage from volunteers and animal rights groups.
The local political group Athina Psila criticized the local government for its apparent indifference to conditions at the shelter, citing a lack of proper care and response to the crisis.
Volunteers have warned that the situation has reached a breaking point, accusing the city’s authorities of failure to address ongoing issues.
