Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the reduction or elimination of six bank fees during his weekly review of government activities on Sunday.
“I’ll start with an important change that came into effect last Monday: the reduction or elimination of six key fees previously charged by banks to individuals, freelancers, and businesses through web banking and mobile banking,” Mitsotakis stated, outlining the specific areas where fees were reduced or abolished.
“There will no longer be charges for cash withdrawals in municipal areas where there is only one bank’s ATM, for balance inquiries at ATMs of other banks, or for loading prepaid cards with up to 100 euros. Additionally, transaction fees for purchases of up to 20 euros via POS are being halved,” the Prime Minister added.
Furthermore, Mitsotakis addressed the recent issue at the EOPYY pharmacy on Alexandras Avenue, in Athens, where dozens of patients endured long waits after all pharmacists at the location took sick leave, prompting the on-site intervention of Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis.
“I want to assure you that we will not allow something similar to happen again,” Mitsotakis stated, adding that measures have already been taken to hire more pharmacists to prevent future disruptions.
