Hackers Use Greek Minister’s Email to Order Luxury Cars and Guns

Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis says hackers compromised his email account and used his personal details to place orders for hundreds of luxury cars and firearms without his knowledge.

Georgiadis revealed the incident in a social media post on Friday, saying the unauthorised orders were made on his birthday.

According to the minister, the orders included 150 Porsche Cayennes, 50 Mercedes-Maybach vehicles, 24 Benelli shotguns and one Springfield Armory Echelon handgun.

He said he had reported the incident to Greece’s Cyber Crime Division and intended to pursue legal action against those responsible.

“On my birthday, they had a surprise in store for me. They hacked my email and, using my name, placed the following orders,” Georgiadis wrote.

The minister responded sarcastically to the incident, thanking the perpetrators for their unusual birthday wishes.

“Fortunately, I don’t have any such unfulfilled desires,” he added.

Georgiadis did not identify those responsible or provide further details about how the alleged breach occurred.

The incident has been referred to Greece’s Cyber Crime Division for investigation.
