The government is moving forward with the revitalization of the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA), with a €14.3 million project to upgrade its grounds and perimeter fencing.
This follows a previous restoration of the stadium’s iconic roofs, designed by star architect Santiago Calatrava.
The plan, launched by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED), includes studies and repairs of structures, enhanced green spaces and a redesigned road network.
“We’re entering the final stretch for the complete transformation of OAKA to make it a symbol of sports, culture, and entertainment,” said Deputy Sports Minister Giannis Vroutsis.
The project will conclude within 14 months from the contract signing, with bids due by February 25.
