Police have exposed a major fertility clinic scandal in Crete involving the theft and misuse of human eggs.
Investigators revealed 75 cases, including fertilized embryos from the same parents being unknowingly implanted in different couples, potentially resulting in siblings born without the parents’ knowledge.
The investigation began after an August 2023 arrest related to surrogacy services, which led to the clinic’s closure.
Two gynecologists and 16 others, including the clinic’s founder, face charges in connection with the scheme.
