Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of reduced prices on quality products but are urged to remain vigilant about pricing accuracy. Merchants are required to clearly display both original and discounted prices, with the original price being the lowest price applied to a product during the 30 days prior to the first discount.
Violations, such as misleading price claims, may incur steep fines up to 2% of annual turnover, or higher penalties for repeat offenses. Consumer groups emphasize the importance of protecting shoppers’ rights to ensure informed purchases.
