Fraport Greece Airports Welcomed Over 36 Million Passengers In 2024

In a remarkable feat, the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece welcomed over 36 million passengers in 2024, marking a 6.4% increase compared to 2023. This translated to an additional 2.1 million passengers passing through the airports.

The surge in passenger traffic was driven by a 4.7% rise in domestic flights (86,026) and a 4.2% growth in international flights (190,315). Overall, the combined domestic and international flights saw a 4.4% increase.

The impressive figures underscore the significant progress made since the concession tender was completed in 2016. Back then, the 14 regional airports served a total of 25,008,965 passengers. By 2024, this number had skyrocketed to 36,026,347 – a remarkable 44.1% increase, or an additional 11,017,382 passengers.

Between 2017 and 2024, the 14 airports had the privilege of welcoming over 212.5 million passengers, a testament to Fraport Greece’s pivotal role in supporting and fostering the sustainable development of Greek tourism.

The growth momentum continued even into the winter season, with passenger traffic at the 14 regional airports reaching 805,056 in December 2024, a 6.7% increase from the same month in 2023. This underscores the consistent upward trend in passenger flow, underscoring the airports’ resilience and ability to cater to the evolving needs of travelers.
