Greek homeowners whose houses have been insured against earthquakes, fire and flooding are able to apply for a discount on the Single Property Tax (ENFIA) as of Wednesday.
The reduction of a maximum 20% on the value of the house goes into effect in 2025 and will affect all future home insurance contracts, according to a decision by Deputy National Economy and Finance Minister Christos Dimas.
Specifically, homes worth up to 500,000 euros that have been insured for at least a year will receive a 20% discount on their property tax (ENFIA) as of 2025. Homes worth over €500,000 that have been insured for at least a year will receive a 10% discount on their property tax as of 2025, under the same conditions as those above. Homes insured for less than a year but for at least three months will receive a proportional property tax reduction.
All contracts must have been valid within 2024.
