In Greece, there is no wind farm that has been installed without causing reactions.
The war against wind turbines has been rekindled, spurred by the reproduction of “news,” mainly through social media, and the overall climate of conspiracy theories gaining more and more ground in Greek society. Wind turbines are blamed for the fires, for the rain that is not falling, as well as for the rise in temperature.
Now, plans include the payment of fees to residents directly through an electronic platform that will be established, and not as credit on electricity bills, while free electricity is also on the table for residents of municipalities hosting numerous turbines.
