Dramatic scenes have emerged from the wildfire burning in Megara, where three horses were captured running desperately to escape the advancing flames.
The major fire continues to spread through the area, with firefighters battling to contain the blaze as it moves towards Agia Skepi and threatens to expand towards the local military firing range.
Footage captured by SKAI showed two adult horses and a younger horse fleeing in panic as the fire approached their location, highlighting the impact of the wildfire on both residents and animals in the affected areas.
Firefighting forces are currently focusing their efforts on two main fronts: Agios Nektarios and Kandili Megaron.
Authorities also issued an emergency alert through 112 at 3:24 a.m., instructing residents in the areas of Skepi, Kandili and Botsika to evacuate and move towards Nea Peramos.
Emergency crews remain on alert as strong winds and dry vegetation continue to challenge efforts to contain the wildfire.
