A magnitude 4.5 earthquake was recorded near Ioannina late on Tuesday night.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of Athens, the quake had a focal depth of 7.6 kilometres. The epicentre was located 9 kilometres northwest of the city.
No further details on damage or injuries have been reported at this stage.
