Defense Minister Nikos Dendias has instructed General Dimitris Houpis, chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, to conduct extraordinary reviews of the armed forces ranks as part of a wider reform plan.
These reviews will include officers at the ranks of Lieutenant General, Major General, Vice Admiral and Rear Admiral.
According to a ministry announcement, the review aims to speed up the implementation of the new Force Structure under the “Agenda 2030” armed forces reform, streamline the number of senior officers, and align with the modern operational demands of the recently approved structure.
