Mama Klorin | Athens | November 15 – January 31

The Demos Center (17 Ipitou) in Athens presents “Mama Klorin,” an evocative exhibition by Albanian artist and former cleaner Doreida Xhogu, along with other female migrant cleaners, opening November 15. Curated by Ioanna Papapavlou and Pati Vardhami, “Mama Klorin” dives into the unseen lives of these women, transforming materials like clay, glass, video and items used in their everyday work into reflections on labor, resilience and trauma. Xhogu’s pieces draw on personal and collective memory, highlighting the overlooked strength of women working in demanding conditions. Supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, this exhibit offers a poignant look at shared experiences and celebrates the bonds forged through daily endurance and care. Admission is free.
