Greek authorities arrested a foreign national on Saturday under the country’s expedited legal procedure for allegedly starting a fire in dry grass in an area of the Municipality of Athens.
Investigators from the Athens Arson Crimes Investigation Unit carried out the arrest as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
In a separate case, authorities in Chios imposed an administrative fine of €1,312.50 on a foreign national accused of discarding smoking materials in an area of the Municipality of Chios, creating a potential fire hazard.
