The National Meteorological Service (EMY) issued an emergency weather warning on Monday morning.
According to EMY, weather conditions are expected to deteriorate from Monday afternoon through Wednesday, primarily in western Greece, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, frequent lightning strikes, and localized hailstorms.
The severe weather on Monday and Tuesday will affect the southern Ionian islands, western Central Greece, and the western Peloponnese. On Wednesday, the conditions are expected to impact the entire Ionian region, Epirus, western Central Greece, western Peloponnese, and possibly the western parts of Thessaly.
