
More than 80,000 people attended Saturday’s Metallica concert at the Olympic Stadium in northern Athens, while earthquake-monitoring equipment registered minor tremors from the event.
Together with their own work, the band also performed doodles on Mikis Theodorakis’ score for the Zorba the Greek Academy Award-winning film and on Greek alternative rock band Trypes’ “You don’t fit anywhere” song.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute provided live monitoring of minute tremors, known as concert quakes, caused by the concerted movements of the crowd at the event.
