Athens’ metro operator has said it will be providing extra services on Line 1 to accommodate concertgoers for Metallica’s sold-out gig at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
According to STASY, services will be extended beyond normal operating hours following the concert, depending on passenger demand as spectators leave the venue.
The company noted that metro Lines 2 and 3, as well as the tram network, will already be operating on a 24-hour schedule on Saturday, providing concertgoers with further transportation options.
Metallica’s Athens performance is part of the M72 World Tour supporting their 2023 album “72 Seasons.” It marks the band’s return to Greece after 16 years and their fifth appearance in the country.
