A man was injured late Thursday in the Piraeus suburb of Keratsini after jumping from the balcony of an abandoned building while police responded to reports that he was throwing objects into the street, authorities said.
Police said the man allegedly hurled items onto the roadway, endangering pedestrians and passing vehicles. Officers approached the scene to prevent further danger when the man jumped onto the street below, suffering injuries in the fall.
An ambulance transported him to a hospital, where he remained hospitalized Friday.
The local prosecutor was informed, and the local police department is investigating the incident.
