Police arrested seven people Thursday morning on the western outskirts of Athens, in Megara and Nea Peramos, in connection with illegal activities including traffic violations, illegal firearm possession, and electricity theft.

The arrests followed a coordinated police operation in the area. Authorities confirmed more than a dozen traffic violations, including driving without a license, failure to wear seatbelts, lack of child restraint systems, absence of valid roadworthiness (KTEO) certificates, and riding motorcycles without helmets.

During a search of a residence, police confiscated a pistol and 82 cartridges.

In a parallel action, a crew from the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO) removed over 1,000 meters of cables that were being used for illegal electricity supply.

A case file has been submitted to the prosecutor.
