Greece has secured a prominent place in global travel rankings, with four of its beaches named among Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards “Best of the Best Beaches” for 2026, including two in the top three worldwide.
The annual list, compiled from millions of traveler reviews and ratings over a 12-month period, represents fewer than 1% of Tripadvisor’s roughly 8 million listings. Topping this year’s ranking is Isla Pasion in Cozumel, Mexico.
Greece’s Elafonissi Beach on the island of Crete claimed second place globally. Known for its distinctive pink-tinged sands and clear turquoise waters, the beach was praised by Tripadvisor as “just one of those places you have to see to believe.” The travel platform highlighted its shallow lagoons as ideal for families, while deeper waters offer opportunities for swimming and snorkeling.
Third place went to Balos Lagoon, also on Crete, further cementing the island’s reputation as a premier beach destination.
Two additional Greek beaches also made the top 15. Falassarna Beach ranked 11th, while Paleokastritsa Beach on the island of Corfu placed 14th.
The strong showing underscores Greece’s enduring appeal among international travelers, particularly for its diverse coastline and iconic seaside landscapes.
