Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis said Thursday that lawmakers from the ruling New Democracy named in a new case file linked to the OPEKEPE subsidy investigation are expected to remain on party ballots.
Responding to questions, Marinakis said the lawmakers’ conduct during Wednesday’s parliamentary debate reflected “dignity, seriousness and respect,” describing it as a response to what he called a toxic political climate.
He dismissed any suggestion they could be barred from running, saying there is “no issue” regarding their candidacies.
