Mitsotakis, Rama meet in Athens

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama at the Maximos Mansion in Athens on Wednesday. Rama is visiting Greece to participate in the Delphi Economic Forum.

“It is always good to take stock of the significant progress that has been made in our bilateral relations and our continued support for the difficult path you are following on the road to the European Union,” Mitsotakis said. “But I believe that we also have an important opportunity to resolve outstanding issues regarding our bilateral relations and strengthen a true friendship,” he added.

For his part, Rama said Albania is willing to continue and fulfill all agreements made within the framework of strategic cooperation between the two Balkan nations. He said there are no remaining outstanding issues between the two countries and underlined the importance of Albania’s EU accession for the broader upgrading of the region. [AMNA]
